Mark Butler is urging his side to play with a bit more style as Carshalton Athletic look to get on a winning run in the Ryman Premier.
One point from two games over the Bank Holiday weekend has left the Robins in mid-table after a satisfactory start to the campaign.
And, with player attitude not an issue for the Carshalton boss, Butler has targeted panache as his priority.
He said: “The truth is we need to get the boys playing a bit more football.
“I am really happy with the effort and the desire, and everyone who plays us knows they are in for a game.
“We are fighting hard and everyone who is here has already proved that they want to play for me and this club.
“Everyone is still finding their feet as a unit and it is very early days for us.
“But the sooner we get the passing game going the better.”
The Robins drew 1-1 at Canvey Island on Saturday with Paul Johnson on target, and Byron Harrison netted in Monday’s 2-1 home loss to Croydon Athletic.
And Butler reckoned it was close to being a decent return.
He added: “We really dug in at Canvey and I was delighted with a point.
“Against Croydon we played well and were it not for a goal two minutes from the end we would have had another draw.
“If we had come out of those two games with two points I would have been extremely happy, so I am not going to get too uptight about it.
“I think overall we have had a good start - it has been pretty average truth be told but we have to be satisfied with that after everything that we went through last year.”
