Alan Dowson has labelled Nicke Kabamba  the best striker in the Ryman Premier League.

The former Hemel Hempstead Town front man bagged two as the Beavers returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Farnborough on Tuesday night after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at promotion rivals Bognor Regis Town.

The win ended a run of three league and cup games without a win that had seen Hampton slip from the top of the table to third and exit the Middlesex Senior Cup.

Kabamba has 11 league goals to his name since signing for the club – on loan initially – in August and has scored four in his past five games since agreeing a permanent switch in January.

His exploits on Tuesday ensured the Beavers remained only one point adrift of league leaders Dulwich Hamlet with a game in hand.

"He was delighted to get tied down to us permanently and I'm gonna stick my neck on the line and say he is the best in the league," said Dowson.

"He is a young man, who works hard for the team and is starting to get goals consistently.

"Some say there are better strikers in the league - like Andre McCollin at Ks - but he is a great lad and pound-for-pound he is the best in the league.

"I wouldn't want anyone else."
