Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson might have warned his big names they face a wait to get back in his starting line-up, but he has not heard them complaining.

Goals from Moussa Diarra and Dean Sinclair gave the Beavers a 2-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night to stretch the team’s unbeaten run to four league matches.

Defender Kieran Murphy, striker Richard Pacquette, winger Jerome Federico, midfielder Eddie Hutchinson and striker Charlie Moone were all on the bench for the win – where they have spent much of the past four games.

Dowson is keen to freshen up his squad with a couple of new faces, but insists the quintet are going nowhere.

“There is more money sitting on the bench than on the pitch at the moment,” he joked.

“If my chairman knew this was going to happen he wouldn’t have let me sign them.”

He added: “I’ve always said players drop themselves and the ones starting at the moment are doing the job.

“Those on the bench will have to wait their turn and take their chance.

“There is no-one knocking on my door at the moment and there are no grumbles, because the team is winning.

“But they are good experienced lads and they will be back in the team at some point I’m sure.”

Tuesday’s win secured fifth place in the Ryman Premier League table and face tomorrow’s visit from Harrow Borough with confidence.

“This league is wide open and there are probably 14 teams who fancy their chances of promotion,” added Dowson.

“Dulwich will win it. They’ve got two good managers and I think they will just have the edge.”
