Kingstonian boss Tommy Williams reckons the Ryman Premier League promotion race is wide open, but that will make it harder than ever to reach National League South.

Ks completed their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 win at Corinthian Casuals on Monday after Saturday’s 3-1 win at Redhill FC.

Williams’ men make the long trip to Leiston tomorrow (Saturday) looking to get the campaign off to a flying start before the visit of Leatherhead to Kingsmeadow on Tuesday night.

“Like every other manager in this league, I want success,” he said.

“I feel we have done well in terms of our recruitment this summer. We’ve got some great characters in the dressing room and everyone seems to be gelling on and off the pitch.

“Without the likes of Margate and Maidstone United in the league, there are no big spenders, but that means everyone in the league will be throwing a bit more at it.

“It is a tough league in which anybody can beat anybody.

“Nothing is won or lost in the first game and we are going to have to take it step by step.

“Every game is a tough game in this league and it is our job to make sure everyone is up for every game this season.”

Defender Alan Inns will be Kingstonian captain for the forthcoming campaign.
