Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper says he might have the best forward in the Ryman Premier League at his disposal, but he has warned his transfer dealings are not over.

New boy Jake Reid, 27, arrived on loan from Conference Premier Dover Athletic this week and scored the winner in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over VCD Athletic at Imber Court.

The Blues had only won one of their previous seven league games prior to the midweek triumph that fired Cooper’s men – who have a game in hand on many of their rivals - up to fifth in the table.

The manager has also added Reading goalkeeper Joe Tupper to his squad on loan until the end of the campaign.

“Jake is now probably one of the best forwards in the league, but he needs game time,” said Cooper.

“He gave the whole squad a lift. It was a better performance on Tuesday. We created more chances and they all hit the target.

“There will probably be a couple more new faces because the two new faces have already give the rest of the squad a kick up the back side.

“It is back in our hands now because we that game in hand. If we win all our games we will get into the play-offs – simple.”

Met Police head to struggling Bury Town on Saturday.
