Sutton United goalkeepers Alan Julian and Tom Lovelock have joined Bromley and Chelmsford City on permanent deals.

Boss Paul Doswell has recruited former Woking stopper Aaron Howe, who made his debut in the weekend Conference South win over Ebbsfleet.

Doswell said: “The bottom line is we cannot afford to have two good keepers, and keep one on the bench.

“Should Aaron [Howe] get injured, we have provision to bring in an excellent young keeper, and should he have to come off in a game, Ian Baird will have to go in goal – but that’s where we are at.”

United go to Havant & Waterlooville this weekend, ahead of a trip to Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday.
