Hampton & Richmond Borough joint-boss Paul Barry apologised to fans for Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Enfield Town on Saturday, but saw more of the same at the Beveree on Tuesday night.

Karle Carder’s second half strike was the only consolation as the Beavers were humbled 3-1.

“I would like to apologise to the supporters who had
to endure that on Saturday. It was nowhere near good enough,” said Barry on Sunday.

“I feel for the fans as they didn’t get value for money.

“We were terrible, absolutely terrible in fact – the players didn’t reach their levels and that’s not good enough.”

By contrast, Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper reckoned Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Canvey Island laid the platform for Tuesday’s Ryman Premier League triumph.

Goals from Tom Bird, Elliot Taylor and Bradley Hudson-Odoi disposed of the Beavers 3-1 at the Beveree to ease the Blues into the top half of the table.

A late solo effort from ex-Arsenal youngster Nigel Neita salvaged a point on the east coast at the weekend.

Met Police host Grays Athletic tomorrow, while Hampton - with only one win in their past seven games - host Billericay Town tomorrow.
