Bob Peeters is more than happy with the contribution of Jordan Cousins on the wing.

The England U21 international has been an ever present in Charlton’s unbeaten start to the campaign, although not in his favoured position where skipper Johnnie Jackson and Yoni Buyens currently rule the roost.

And Valley head coach Peeters feels the youngster is thriving in the new role, even if he admitted Cousins could potentially return to the middle at some point this season.

“Never say never when we need him there, but at this moment he gives us an option of the left side.

“His work rate is very high so I think he is doing alright there.

“Naturally he is a central midfielder but again he is doing it for the team and I’m very happy with the way he does it.

“Sometimes if Jacko is coming off he can go central - and now with Frederic Bulot and Callum Harriott we have some options on the sides.”
