In the past three games we’ve gone a goal down - in two of them we managed to claw back and scrape out a point.

Both times the equaliser came late.

Last week at Orient, the Beast pulled it back in the 80th. Two weeks ago at home to Wycombe, Azeez was the stoppage time hero.

Both were games we easily could have lost, and maybe should have lost. But the Dons grabbed two points from them, instead of none. Not bad, right?

Admittedly, the manager went on record as saying we should have beaten Orient. And he’s probably right. But still.

Personally I’m rather liking this whole business of coming from behind to rescue a result.

Obviously I’d rather win, but I’ll take this over losing any day. It reminds me of the scrappy Wimbledon teams of 2012 and 2013, when we were fighting every Saturday for our very lives.

This isn’t exactly #ArdleyTime, those heady days of several seasons ago when it seemed like all our goals came in added time and we were taking points we had no right to claim.

But it does, I think, point to a measure of character in the side.

And, let’s be honest, it’s something Wimbledon occasionally leave in the dressing room. Even this season there have been too many games where we should have gotten a result and didn’t.

So, yes, while we need to start putting some wins together, I think it’s important to appreciate this capacity to come back from a deficit, to not give up no matter how late in the game.

It sure beats the alternative.
