Neal Ardley reckons the Dons need one more signing before all his summer dealings are done.

After recruiting striker Lyle Taylor from Scunthorpe United at the beginning of the week, Ardley is now turning his attention back to the defence.

At present, the Dons boast new man Karleigh Osborne and Will Nightingale at centre back, with Ryan Sweeney as cover.

However, Ardley wants another big defender, with the potential of a selection headache an easy one to bear.

He said: “I want Ryan [Sweeney] to develop a bit more, I don’t want him to be thrown in at the deep end until he’s ready.

“We need that dominance and aerial presence to go alongside Karleigh.

“Will has been outstanding in pre-season so far so I may have a selection problem, but that’s what I want.”
