AFC Wimbledon have received a water-based boost ahead of the final touches to tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy trip to Bristol City.
Neal Ardley has used the broad strokes of his squad to emulsify Southend and paint over the irritating smudge that is franchise.
Now, ahead of the area quarter-final tie, Dons have been awarded the Johnstone's Paint Trophy team of the second round prize for that 3-2 a few miles up the M1.
Not only did Ardley take delivery of the silverware, he was also presented a tub of paint to use on a club project.
Ardley said: “It was a big win and the manner of the victory – coming from behind away to a club in a division higher – made it all the more special.
“It was a terrific performance from the players and it’s a great feeling to win the Johnstone’s Paint team of the round award.
“It’s given everybody a lot of confidence to hopefully have a long run in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and push to go to Wembley.”
