Tom Elliott reckons the key to AFC Wimbledon’s League Two play-off final victory lay in the legs.
Monday’s glorious victory over Plymouth Argyle at Wembley was noticeable for some of the bursting runs forward in the latter stages of a draining encounter.
After going 1-0 ahead, both Dannie Bulman, 37, and Barry Fuller, 31, led counter-attacks against an exposed defence as the Pilgrims chased an equaliser.
While neither break led to a goal, Dons eventually put the tie to bed in the seventh of 11 minutes injury time.

Elliott said: “We have great deal of energy in the team, people talk about me and Lyle [Taylor] up front, but then there’s [Jake] Reeves and Dannie in midfield, and Barry in defence – the legs those players have are ridiculous.
“They can run all day and they made some great runs late in the game when Plymouth were tiring.”
He added: “We did not doubt ourselves and we knew we would get one chance – and once we got the first goal we knew they would have to come at us and with our speed and fitness, we knew we could hurt them again.”
