From the heady heights of promotion to the Championships in 2013, to the dropzone of League Two in 2015, Yeovil Town have plummeted down the pecking order, and the Dons Neal Ardley has sympathy for this weekend’s hosts.

Ardley is sweating on the fitness of Tom Elliott (hamstring), Jon Meades (calf) and Karleigh Osborne (knee) as well as possibly being without the banned Lyle Taylor.

The boss said: “You have to give Yeovil credit, they were so massively over-achieving to get in the Championship, it is frightening.

“Based on what they had as a team, they should have been struggling at the bottom end of League One.

“Paul Sturrock [manager] has brought in some bodies, but a lot of his senior and experienced players have been struggling with injury, so he has a mixed bag.”

He added: “I do feel for him because League Two is very unforgiving and they put in some good performances.

“They came back from 2-0 down to beat Luton Town, so they have got a little bit about them.

“They have a good amount of energy in their team and they work incredibly hard for their manager.”
