AFC Wimbledon boss has warned some of his new players to pick up the work ethic or they will find themselves out of the team.

The Dons returned from Carlisle United last weekend with a hard-earned League Two point from a 1-1 draw.

Andy Barcham bagged his second goal of the season in the first half, only to see it cancelled out in the second half.

Ardley praised his winger’s start to the season, which has included an assist and two goals, with the prospect of more on the horizon.

However, others have much to learn.

He said: “I’d tried to signed Andy for two years and he is living up to expectations of what I hoped he would be. He is certainly a big player for us.

“The new guys are settling in. One or two need to get used to me and my demands. They need to learn quick or they won’t be in the team.

“I know they are capable of what I am asking them to do, so the quicker they grasp the work ethic and work rate that is demanded, the quicker they will give themselves a chance of playing regularly.”

The Dons host Exeter City this weekend with Dannie Bulman only 50/50 after limping off on Saturday with a tight hamstring.

Lyle Taylor (ankle) and Tom Elliott (groin) face a race to be fit.
