Dulwich 221 (52.1) Leatherhead 224-4 (44.3)
Dulwich scored 221 in the Shepherd Neame Surrey Championship Division Two match at Leatherhead but it proved insufficient, as they went down by six wickets.
Put in to bat, skipper Anil Mahey started positively, scoring 15 of the first 17 runs before falling to Mark Farrant in the sixth over.
Ed Matten and Marshall Hood then added 49 in 10 overs for the second wicket, with Matten playing second fiddle to Hood before also falling to Farrant for seven. Hood and Tom Howe then took the score to 108 after 23 overs but the introduction of Leatherhead's spinners, left-armer Matt Roberts and South African leggie David Bonellie, put a brake on the scoring.
Hood fell to Bonellie for 47 and Howe to Roberts for 28 to leave Dulwich on 118-4 in the 30th over.
Richard Farrow, with 63 not out, saw his side through to a total of 221 all out off 52.1 overs.
Roberts finished with 2-48 and Bonellie 4-51, while Farrant returned to pick up two more wickets to end with 4-33.
Leatherhead opened their reply with 16-year-old Adam Dyson and 17-year-old Matt Laidman, who put on 69 in 14.1 overs before Dyson fell to Arun Mahey for 29.
Laidman and skipper Matt Joblin took the score to 109 after 23.4 overs, whereupon John Soulsby struck twice in three overs, removing Laidman for 60 and Joblin for 26 with the innings on 134.
Bonellie then took Dulwich's bowling apart, reaching his 50 off only 32 balls (despite failing to score off the first eight deliveries he faced) and ending 72 not out from 42 deliveries.
Nick French fell to Chris Lester for 33, but with only six runs needed the result was by then inevitable.
Dulwich will be hoping for a better result next week away to Beddington.
