Weybridge are set for one of the most exciting summers of cricket, says club chairman Andy Bell.

The Surrey Championship Premier League outfit, who finished fifth in the table last term, have named South African overseas professional SJ Erwee as their new captain after wicketkeeper Joel Pope relinquished the reins in the winter.

The Hanger Hill club have been busy in the transfer market adding left arm spinner Francois Vainker, MCC Young Cricketer Matt King, opening bowler Tom Friend and destructive Hampshire second team batsman Ollie Mills to their ranks.

Zimbabwean international PJ Moor has also signed to play the opening months of the summer.

Without any doubt there will some high quality and exiting cricket played on The Green this summer," said Bell.

"And if you are not a player. but simply a spectator, come to the ground every Saturday and Sunday and you will be thoroughly entertained."
