New Malden racer Tom Onslow-Cole has set his sights on lifting the British Touring Car Championship drivers’ title this summer.
The 24-year-old confirmed his return to the West Surrey Racing-run eBay Motors-backed West Surrey Racing – the outfit he made his BTCC debut with in 2007.
Onslow-Cole, who secured five podium finishes and one race win with WSR five years ago, will be part of a three driver squad alongside Rob Collard and Nick Foster.
And the former Weybridge College student, who has seven career wins to his name in the series, insisted the trio and the team’s turbo-charged BMW are a recipe for success.
"We are just over the moon and I feel this is a championship challenging car," he said.
"The team and I have come a long way since my first year with them.
"The only major change to the car is the engine and I am expecting to do a lot better than in 2007."
West Surrey Rasing were the team behind Colin Turkington’s BTCC drivers’ title triumph in the Team RAC BMW in 2009.
