Weybridge Vandals skipper Tony Couzens reckons his men will not let lightning strike twice when they host Purley John Fisher.

The Brownacres outfit crashed 24-10 to Saturday’s visitors the last time the two teams met in London Division Three South West.

Vandals, who have struggled this term since relegation from Division Two last year, go into the crunch clash on the back of a 41-16 win at bottom-club Andover.

Three teams are earmarked for the drop in April and a win this weekend for head coach Nick Ridley’s men would go some way to securing safety following a season of transition.

“Purley hadn’t won a game when we played them last and we totally underestimated them,” said Couzens, pictured below.

“We are a young side and we have learned a lot since then. You cannot underestimate anyone in this league.

“There are no teams in this league that are outstanding and I expect us to push on.

“We have come on leaps and bounds from the start of the season and even midway through. I’m confident we will be pushing forward – not dropping back.”

Harrison Edgeson celebrated his 18th birthday with a try to go with further scores from Daryl Bryant, Lewis Bryant, Couzens, David Loubser and Luke Higley at the weekend.
