Fulham 4 Juventus 1
Fulham win 5-4 on aggregate
Fulham enjoyed one of the greatest nights in their history when they knocked Italian giants Juventus out of the Europa League, having overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit.
The Cottagers' 4-1 win on Thursday - for a 5-4 aggregate triumph - was all the more remarkable given the fact that David Trezeguet scored inside two minutes to put Juve 4-1 ahead in the tie.
Bobby Zamora equalised on the night seven minutes later before two Zoltan Gera goals either side of half-time - the second from the penalty spot after Diego's deliberate handball - levelled the tie at 4-4.
Fulham's passage into the quarter-finals and a memorable night was sealed when American Clint Dempsey, who made an earlier-than-expected return from a serious knee injury at Manchester United on Sunday, scored a stunning winner, chipping Juve's third-choice goalkeeper Antonio Chimenti from the edge of the area.
After the 3-0 defeat to United, boss Roy Hodgson voiced his desire that Fulham should not let a sensational season slip away without a whimper.
In front of an ecstatic crowd of 23,458 by the Thames last night, this was definitely more sizzle than fizzle.
