Croydon Harrier’s long distance squad kicked off 2010 with a solid showing at the Lauriston road race in Wimbledon on Saturday, writes Matthew Kiernan.
Colin Oxlade (23rd, 32.04 minutes) and Martin Rowe (25th, 32.23) both impressed over the five-mile course, while Yasmin Anderson (37.13) was third in the women’s race.
The trio ensured Croydon finished fifth in the team standings.
Elsewhere, Andrew Del Nevo (12th, 20.15) and Dave Warren (57th, 24.12) both enjoyed good showings at the Banstead Woods 5km time trial.
The Harriers will now look ahead to the Surrey cross-country championships in Lloyd Park on Saturday, which is set to attract over 1,000 athletes from the county.
