This is a weird time to be an AFC Wimbledon fan.

The club and the fans are currently in two major fights with massive consequences.

On the one hand we have the stadium.

Boris, in his infinite wisdom, hit the brakes on the stadium plans and effectively kicked the can down the road to be dealt with by his successor, whoever that will be.

It’s not quite Square One, but we do have to re-litigate some fights we all thought were done and dusted.

And on the other hand we have the promotion race. The wins over Wycombe and Plymouth pushed us back above the red line with six games to go.

Both struggles, coincidentally, are coming to a head next month. We’ll either be in the play-offs or packing it in for the summer.

Meanwhile, the election to choose Boris’ successor is approaching.

I can only imagine what it’s like for club officials right now. The football and stadium situations are so pressing, the stakes so high.

Never mind the pressure on the players. Or the long-time fans.

If there’s one point of encouragement, it’s the sense that everyone is in it together.

Players are training hard, the Bring The Dons Home campaign has sprung into action, and club officials are doing thankless work behind the scenes.

Everyone is aware of the massive challenges rushing at the club and no one is sleeping on it.

The next month or so is going to be a nervewracking time for everyone connected to AFC Wimbledon.

Courage, strength, patience and resolve to Dons everywhere.
