Kingston & Poly Harriers star Pheobe Law is the capital’s new women’s cross-country champion after running to glory in the London Championship on Saturday.

Law clocked 24 minutes seven seconds over the 6km course to take top spot, 39 seconds ahead of Lara Bromilow of Marshall Milton Keynes (24:46) and Highgate’s Hannah Viner (24:47).

Meanwhile, team Kingston have a silver medal to their name as the new Balfour Beatty London Youth Games season got under way with the cross-country competitions at the same venue.

Mollie O’Sullivan won silver in the girls’ U15 event, clocking 7:44 over the 2km course to give Kingston a fantastic start to the 2015 campaign.

Other notable achievements came from Matthew Kossatz in the boys’ U15 (3km) event, who finished seventh in 11:02, and Aaron Farr who finished ninth in the boys’ U17 (4.5km) event with a time of 18:10.

Overall, the girls’ squad finished seventh – the highest placing to date by a Kingston girls’ squad – and the boys finished in 12th place.
