Seven Croydon Harriers were in action at the Tooting track & field open on Saturday.

David Olajiga stood out with a 15.13m effort in the shot putt, which elevates him to eighth in the U20 men’s UK rankings, despite still being in the U17 category.

Ben Savill finished second in the 1,500m in four minutes 16.6 seconds, and Giacomo Spagnoli took the spoils in the U20 men’s discus in 34.37m.

Reegan Boyce leapt to 11.34m in the U17 men’s triple jump, while Daniel Luke was the pick of the sprinters winning his 100m heat in 11.76secs.

Lee McLaughlin won the Crystal Palace open 100m in 10.73secs and was third in the 200m in 21.64secs.

The U13s and U15s squads were in action at the Super 8 fixture at Sutton Arena on Sunday, with both squads enjoying mid-table finishes.

At the CAU inter-county championships in Bedford, Paul Ogun leapt to 14.71m in the triple jump to earn third position in a high-class field.

At the Super 8 fixture at Sutton Arena, Croydon’s U13 and U15 squads finished third and runners-up in their respective competitions.

Three athletes enjoyed overall victories in the multi-event challenge.

Jack Ennis topped the standings in the U13 boys' category out of the 35 participants. He was the clear victor in the 75m sprint hurdles (14.10secs) and high jump (1.40m).

In the U15 boys' ranks Emmanuel Thomas was also top individual out of a field of ten competitors, thanks to his run of 13.40secs in the 80m hurdles and 1.40m in the high jump.

Ola Olufemi-Krakue triumphed in the U15 girls category with a 13.50secs clocking in the 100m and a 4.61m effort in the long jump.

Cassandra Howard was the leading light in the U13 girls standings in 11th. There were 20 Harriers in action overall. 

In the pick of the parkrun action there were three first places for Croydon - David Chambers triumphed at Wimbledon Common in 17:19, while David Brown bagged his third win at Riddlesdown in a course best of 17:36, and 13 year-old Jessica Moore was first in the women’s category at Lloyd Park.
