Banstead CC’s Matthew Dunn will be gracing the T20 Blast finals day after helping Surrey overcome Worcestershire in the quarter-finals last weekend, writes Mark Caswell.
The 22-year-old fast bowler took 2-28 off his four overs as Surrey beat the Royals by three wickets at the Oval.
They will face Birmingham in the semi-finals on August 23 at Edgbaston, with the winner taking on either Lancashire or Hampshire.
Dunn said: “It was a fine team performance, especially the bowling.
“It was a good toss to win because we chase well, and we have batted second in most of the games in this competition.”
Surrey, who lost in last year’s final, chased down the Royals’ 141 thanks in part to opener Jason Roy’s 52 off 23 balls.
Dunn added: “Jason [Roy] has been consistent throughout the campaign, and we expect a tough game in the semi-finals.”
