Dons boss Neal Ardley has not closed the door on bringing defender Callum Kennedy back into the squad as his search for a defender continues.
He said: “We have an 18-man squad, and I’ve made no secret of the fact I’m looking for another defender to give us more cover at the back.
“Jack Smith can play right back and left back, so if anything happened to Barry Fuller we’ve got Jack who can go in there.
“But if anything happened to Jack at left back, what have we got. It’s only really Chris Arthur who can fill in, so we need a left back.
“We’ve had a few in on trial, and none have really stuck out and said ‘Yep, I am League Two’.
“We promised Callum he could train with us in pre-season, and he has looked sharp, worked hard and I thought let’s see where he is.
“I told him he can play in some games, get fit and I will make a judgment on him, which I have not done yet.”
