The summer signings have fueled excitement among the Dons faithful, as Tim Ashton found out when he spoke to fans outside last week’s meet the manager night.
Lee Hudson: “I have been a fan for 40 years and I am really excited about this season. I am especially looking forward to seeing more goals being scored at home.
“We need a big improvement at home, that’s important, and I am looking forward to pushing up the table and maybe even sneaking into the play-offs.”
George Jones: “The new signings are really promising, Neal has done a good job – especially with Tubbs and Akinfenwa. If they can bond, they could be the best strike force in the league.
“These signings are more exciting than last year because they are all proven players.
“If they continue their form, we could be play-off contenders this year.”
Chris Thorpe: “The signings have been great and I am really looking forward to seeing the link-up play between Akinfenwa and Tubbs, they look like they should complement each other very well with Tubbs running of the back of Bayo.
“I also like Mark Phillips – he has great experience, even if he plays a deputy role behind Benno and Framps.
“I think letting Jack Midson go, although he’s a legend, has freed up cash to bring the players in and as long as we progress year on year, I will be happy.”
Bryan Dyer: “I am excited about the signings, the attackers we’ve got are a big step forward.
“I am optimistic and hopefully we won’t struggle again and maybe even make the play-offs.
“I am also hopeful of a good cup run for a change, but I am not bothered about the Captial One Cup, I won’t be going to MK Dons.”
Howard Muten: “They are exciting signings and I am looking for a better finish than last year.
“We started well enough, but then it seemed to peter out and we got in a mess towards the end of the season.
“I want this team to be together for the whole season and I’m looking for a finish in the top half of the table, maybe even the play-offs, just no more bottom five please.“
