Paul Doswell has challenged new signing Ricky Wellard to rediscover his AFC Wimbledon form for Sutton United.
The 26-year-old midfielder is the latest United recruit from crisis club Salisbury City, following the arrival of Luke Ruddick and Callum Hart.
Doswell said: “I wanted to sign Ricky when he left Cambridge United, but we were miles away from what Salisbury could offer him, so now I am delighted to get him.
“He puts good pressure on the ball, and is my sort of player. But he needs a good season and if he can find his Dons form, then he’ll be terrific.”
United have added two more pre-season matches to their programme, with a Reading XI coming to Gander Green Lane on July 19 in place of Farnborough, and a West Ham United XI following suit on July 23.
