Kingston’s Danny Parsons will have no room for error when he defends his Queensbury Boxing League southern area lightweight title next month.

The 19-year-old faces Hassan Abdi at Epsom Racecourse of April 19 as he attempts a fourth successful defence of the belt he captured in 2012, with a crack at the vacant national title on offer should he win.

“I love getting into a war,” said Parsons.

“I’ve been ringside at both Abdi’s previous fights in the league, and know he’s not been in with anyone like me before, so he’s going to find it very different.”
