It has been a long time coming, but Carshalton Athletic celebrated a first win in the Ryman Premier League since Boxing Day.

Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at Bury was only the Robins’ fourth of the league season, and the first under the new reign of boss Stuart Massey.

Jason Henry grabbed the winner in injury time to leave Massey a happy man.

“It’s a monkey off our back, but we played really well and deserved the goal,” he said.

"We were not bad against Harrow Borough or Cray Wanderers, but I think everyone knows the Wingate match was a bit of a disaster.

"But we've got Qunicy Lowe back, which is important for us, and a new centre half in Tony Sinclair."

He added: "I said when I took over that we need a couple of quick wins to get the confidence back, we've got one, and hopefully the other won't be far behind.

“We have a couple of tough games at home coming up, but since the Wingate defeat our attitude in training has been excellent, and hopefully the players have seen that bears fruit, and we can take it into the Lowestoft and Duliwch Hamlet games.”
