Epsom & Ewell Harriers ladies finished eighth out of 52 clubs in Surrey League Division One after the final meeting at Croydon’s Lloyd Park on Saturday.

Leading the team home was Isabel Brinsden in seventh, timing 33 minutes 45 seconds over the five-mile course.

Meanwhile, Epsom Oddballs’ Becky McNicholas was first home for the club in Division Two, clocking 36:05 to register an individal sixth place finish.

The Oddballs finished the day in 10th, and ninth overall.

Also in Division Two, Tadworth AC’s women finished 13th overall.

Fielding five runners, the team finished 15th on the day, thanks to good runs from Jane Munn (45th, 44:08), Mary Matthews (52nd, 45:15) and Nanda Mahler (61st, 47:25).

The Epsom & Ewell Harriers men finished seventh in Division Two of the Surrey Men’s Cross-Country League, avoiding relegation by 176 points.

In the league’s final meeting in Croydon, Stuart Flack was first home for the Harriers in 13th, finishing the 5.6-mile course in 31:54.

He was followed by Steve Winder (16th, 32:09) and Ollie Garrod (17th, 32:32).

Tadworth finished Division Three in sixth place overall after securing a fifth place on the final day of action at Newlands Corner.

The team was led home by Paul O’Callaghan (fifth, 30:21), followed by Peter Mills (11th, 30:54), and Dave Williamson (25th, 32:38).
