AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Ross Worner has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two player of the month for December.

Recognised notably for his performance in the 0-0 draw at home to Mansfield, 24-year-old Worner is up against strikers Deon Burton (Scunthorpe) and Tom Nicholls (Exeter City), and midfielder Michael Flynn (Newport County).

The judging panel said: "Ross has overcome a shaky start at the Dons to display his full range of shot-stopping and win over the fans.

"He conceded just two goals in three matches in December and produced several brilliant saves to preserve a goalless draw at home to Mansfield Town."

The winner will be announced on Friday.
