Hampton are behind Beavers boss

Hampton & richmond Borough striker Charlie Moone has revealed the squad is behind boss Mark Harper ahead of a crunch weekend for the Beavers boss.

Hampton host Concord Rangers tomorrow in the last of a trio of games the Station Road board had given the manager and  former Sutton United defender to save his job.

Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Lewes, having been 2-1 up through a Moone penalty and a Joe Turner header, means Harper’s men have drawn their two previous games and are now without a win since a 3-0 success at Wingate & Finchley on December 15.

Harper added former Sutton winger Tony Taggart and ex-AFC Bournemouth man Ryan Moss to his squad last week, having released JJ Bates, Joel Ledgister and Neil Jenkins.

And Moone reckons the changes will take full effect this weekend.

“We are all behind Harps and we know we have our part to play, just like he has his.  He isn’t happy with results and neither are the players,” he said.

“The changes that were made last week have been a case of freshening things up.  It is sad to see players go because you build relationships, but that is non-League football for you.

“We started the season so well, it is hard to put your finger on why that has changed.

“It is up to us to turn things around.”
