Leon Legge has not featured too heavily for Brentford this season, but even he is getting that winning feeling at the Bees.

The 27-year-old centre back has made only 11 appearances this term and has only been on the losing side twice – in the league against Yeovil Town and Southend United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The former non-League footballer, voted Brentford’s player of the year in 2010,  has only started six of those games as Harlee Dean an Tony Craig have established themselves as boss Uwe Rosler’s central defensive pairing of choice this season.

But Legge, in his fourth campaign at Griffin Park since being plucked by Andy Scott from Tonbridge Angels, insists he is still enjoying life with the Bees.

Particularly, with his first professional club – in the middle of a good run of form after Wednesday’s 3-1 at Colchester United – well placed to launch a promotion bid at the turn of the year.

“We’ve got keep winning and get further in the cup and in the keep,” he said after last week’s cup win over Bradford City.

“Winning can be infectious and we just need to keep that mentality.

“Everyone is buzzing at the moment there is a good feeling at the club and we want to give it a real go this year.

“We are playing some really good football at the moment.

“Even when we are going 1-0 down we are coming back playing good football and scoring good team goals too.

“We’re just playing really good.

“I talked to someone the other day this is my fourth season hear since coming from Tonbridge and it has just flown by and I’m still enjoying it.”

Boss Rosler has emphasised the importance of performing well over the festive period, but feared playing 30 minutes of extra-time againt Bradford had not helped his side’s preparations for the busy schedule, but Legge, left, admitted he needed the  run-out more than most.

“I haven’t played much for a while,” he added.

“I thought I was alright against Bradford City and I thought I needed 120 mintes to be honest.”

Brentford have been boosted by news this week that midfielder Harry Forrester will remain at the club until the end of the season, with a view to staying at Griffin Park should the Bees win promotion.

Forrester's current contract runs out at the end of the season and speculation the former Aston Villa youngster would move on in the January transfer window has been growing - but he has stated his ambition to see out his deal.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Richard Lee has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep the 30-year-old at the club until the end of next season.
