Richmond's Brad Pickett is hoping to make it a happy hat-trick when the takes on America's Eddie Wineland in the year-ending Ultimate Fighting Championship 155 event in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The 34-year-old former semi-professional footballer has won 22 of his 28 professional fights in an eight-year career, and is unbeaten in 2012 thus far, with wins over Damacio Page and Yves Jabouin in Stockholm and Nottingham respectively.
"I cannot wait to meet Eddie in Las Vegas. UFC 155 is one of the biggest card of the year, a great way to end 2012," said Pickett.
"It's an honour to be involved on the same card as the UFC heavyweight championship.
"2012 has been a fantastic year for me personally, I got enegaged and have won both of my two fights so far and I guarantee that it'll be three come New Years' Eve.
"Eddie is a dangerous fighter who's coming off a good win back in June, but he has nowhere near as much experience as I do and won't be able to deal with my speed and power."
