"Several members of the troop, under our scoutmaster, spent a very enjoyable trek camp at Easter.
"We started at 11am on Good Friday from Banstead, our first camping ground. Nothing exciting happened on the way and at 2pm we reached Banstead.
"While some pitched tents and fetched water, two of us made a camp fire and proceeded to cook dinner.
"After dinner, everyone was free to do as he pleased. Just as we had finished tea, Tubby arrived and stayed the night.
"On Saturday, when we had breakfast and sent him off (to work!), we struck camp and proceeded to Reigate. After a very hilly journey, we arrived there just in time to be too late to do any shopping so we proceeded to our camping ground, which was about two miles beyond Reigate, and bought some food on the way.
"We had a very nice camping ground there and during our stay we looked over the headquarters of the 14th Reigate and agreed that they were "hot stuff". Next morning we set out for Ashtead, our next camping site.
"Arriving at Ashtead, we found that the Ashtead Troop were camping there and had some boiling water for us.
"Tubby came over again that evening and later we had a small camp fire sing-song.
"Next day we struck camp at about 1pm and started for Surbiton.
"After a very stiff and wet pull across Epsom Common, all was plain sailing. At Bones Gate we refreshed ourselves with some ginger pop and proceeded to Surbiton.
"We arrived at 5.10pm all merry and bright after a trek of about 38 miles."
