As part of National Heritage Weekend, the parish church of St. Mary the Virgin, Chessington, will be open for visitors on Saturday 9th September from 10-00 a.m. until 4-00 p.m. (Address - Church Lane, Chessington, KT9 2LB).

The only church in the Guildford diocese of the Church of England to be located in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames, the recently refurbished building has a history which goes back to Norman times and it was first mentioned in the records of Merton Priory of 1174.

Parking is available in the car park adjacent to the British Legion Hall at the junction of Church Lane and Stokesby Road; the 467 bus from Epsom and the 71 bus from both Kingston and Surbiton pass the church which is also a short walk up Garrison Lane from Chessington South railway station.
