Richmond-based family support charity Home-Start Richmond is changing its name to Home-Start Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow to reflect the fact that it now works across all three boroughs.

Since October 2016 the charity has been building up its service to support families in the borough of Kingston-upon-Thames and on the 1st April 2017 it merged with Home-Start Hounslow, which offers the Home-Start family support service across the whole of the borough.

Karen McLean, Director said: “We look forward to raising the profile of Home-Start and continuing to work with families and volunteers across all three boroughs.”

Home-Start families from Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow came together recently to enjoy a family day out at Kew Gardens.  Despite the rain, 30 families, including 55 children went along to enjoy a day of activities. Pictured here are the Qaiser family from Hounslow, enjoying a ride on the Kew Explorer.

Home-Start is currently recruiting volunteers with parenting experience to work across the whole area. After training, the volunteers visit families with children under the age of 5 who are struggling with issues such as post-natal depression, bereavement, disability and much more.  To find out more about the volunteer course contact Angie Ahmed on 020 8487 8500 or visit www.homestart-richmond.org.uk or find them on Facebook and Twitter @HStartRichmond
