Asda in Kingston recently launched a search to find the town’s King of Kingston, to treat a deserving local for Father’s Day. Local dad, Eddie McMillan, was nominated by his wife, Tamarah, for all of the great work he did for his family during her period of sickness.

Eddie was presented with a £150 Asda gift card to treat himself to something special this Father’s Day.

Tamarah McMillan, Eddie’s wife said: “This will be Eddie's first Father's Day, following the birth of our beautiful baby girl Savannah in December. “

Since Savannah’s birth, Tamarah has unfortunately been very poorly and has spent most of the baby’s first few months in and out of hospital. During this time, Eddie showed himself to be an awesome husband and daddy and moved heaven and earth to ensure their baby girl didn't miss out.

“Now that I am recovering, we have had the chance to do things as a family for the first time. He really makes sure she gets all the love and experiences she needs, no matter what.” Tamarah added.

General store manager, Jess Ayres, said: “We received some fantastic entries for the King of Kingston, and the team and I really enjoyed reading through all of the great nominations from locals and family members.

“We thought that Tamarah’s nomination for Eddie was lovely. It was great to welcome them both and Savannah into the store to meet the team, and we hope Eddie has a great Father’s Day this weekend.”
