On June 7th, 12 colleagues set out on the latest leg of Cellular Solutions Charity Cycle ride to the South of France.

The Sussex based business telecoms provider started their ambitious plan to cycle from Hove to Valras Plage in the South of France in 2011 and have so far raised over £180,000 for charity. Their target is to get to £250,000 by the time they reach the Mediterranean on the other side of France.

This year’s ride started in Poitiers and visited Mansle in Charente, Brantome in the Dordogne ending in Bergerac. The event took part over 3 days and covered 293 km. The cyclists battled 30c heat and some very hilly terrain.

Back in the office, fundraising efforts included a 1,000km static bike ride and a charity raffle and bake sale. We had some very generous raffle donations including Joe Marler donating his England Rugby Shirt he wore playing against Scotland.

The money raised will be split between several charities, including
-    Chestnut Tree House
-    Martlets Hospice
-    St Catherines Hospice
-    Trevor Mann Baby Unit
-    Sightsavers
-    Diabetes UK
-    Help for Heroes
-    Macmillan Cancer Support
-    Alzheimers Society
-    Brain Research Trust
-    Marie Curie
-    Mind
-    RNIB
-    And many many more….
Damian Mottram, Managing Director of Cellular Solutions said:

‘The level of focus and resilience from everyone in the business, both the team in France either achieving the kilometres or supporting the cyclists, and the team back in the office also fund raising whilst retaining excellence of support and service to our customers, was extremely impressive. I am hugely proud of all of them and the dedication with which they go about this, whilst engaging in the overall event and what it’s about – raising good amounts for exceptionally important causes.’

Donations and sponsorship of this event were gratefully received from friends and family of the participants as well as clients and suppliers of Cellular Solutions.
