Young Muslims from Kingston, South West London spent their Sunday to feed the homeless in Central London.

10 youth members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Kingston chapter drove to Central London to distribute hundreds of food packs to the homeless people.

It is part of the AMYA’s national ‘Muslims for Humanity’ campaign, where AMYA members do things like clean up streets, donate to food banks, feed the homeless and carry out bucket collections for charities. Last Weekend, 14 youth members of Putney were also on the streets around Charing Cross to distribute hundreds of food packs to the homeless.

After the feeding session, Tajammal Ahmad, Youth Leader for AMYA Kingston said:

"Our members have enjoyed living in London for decades and so any opportunity to help our community here is much welcome. As Muslims we are encouraged to partake in charity and are reminded of our social responsibility to help our local communities, particularly those who are homeless or vulnerable"

"Ramadhan is a time when you should be worshiping and serving humanity more than ever. This presents us with an opportunity to become better. We are peace loving British Muslims and will continue to do all we can to serve our local community as best we can and wherever there is a need."
