Volunteer English tutors and their 1 to 1 students visited Kew Gardens on Wednesday 7 June 2017. The trip was an opportunity for students from many different countries and backgrounds to meet new friends, enjoy having fun outdoors and to practice speaking English together.

Learn English at Home is a local charity which trains volunteers to teach people practical English skills. Our students cannot access college due to childcare responsibilities, disability or their very low levels of English and the volunteers who come to their homes can make such a difference to their lives.

They help to build confidence, reduce isolation and encourage them to become more involved in their local community.  We are recruiting new volunteers to train as English tutors in Kingston, Richmond and Hounslow. If you are interested in languages and social integration and would like to help please get in touch www.leah.org.uk 020 8255 6144.
