Healix appoints Central Pharmacy in Esher to fulfil prescriptions for UK employees on overseas assignments.

Healix International is pleased to announce that it has appointed Central Pharmacy in Esher to fulfil prescriptions for its clients’ employees while they are posted overseas.

Marise Caunter, Operations Director at Healix International, advised that Healix doctors issue almost 1,000 prescriptions a year on behalf of their clients’ employees who can be working on assignments anywhere in the world.

“Employers sending staff overseas have a duty of care to ensure the health and safety of their employees and this includes making sure they receive appropriate medication if required”, explained Marise. “For example, regular medication may be needed to control high blood pressure, diabetes or asthma but it is not always possible to get the right drugs in the country of assignment, or the cost may be exorbitant. In China, the cost of some medicines can be 1,000’s of times the cost in the UK. There can also be an issue over the authenticity of medicines supplied in some countries.”

“Where appropriate we will issue a prescription and have it fulfilled in the UK and dispatched to the patient. This can also extend to family members accompanying expatriate employees overseas. For example, we can help ensure that babies and young children are able to continue with the UK’s recommended immunisation programme by providing the necessary vaccines and arranging for them to be administered locally.”

Marise advised that Central Pharmacy were awarded the contract as a result of their service excellence and the responsiveness of its proprietor, Mr Subhash Patel, to Healix’s particular requirements.
