Over 1,000 members of the ACS Cobham International School community celebrated its multicultural identity at the annual International Fair through music, food, games, and performance.

The school's gym was transformed into an international market, with students, teachers and parents exploring vibrant stalls from across the globe and trying their hand at traditional games and sampling local cuisine, as well as enjoying musical performances from the school Marimba Band.

Visitors weaved their way around 24 stalls, including the German stall which encouraged visitors take a shot at goal in a Bayern Munich penalty shootout, the Netherlands-themed stall which invited guests to play the traditional game Sjoelen, and a South African lion–making stall.

All students were given an International Fair passport and received stamps from each country they ‘visited’ throughout the day. The Fair, supported by the ACS Cobham PSO (Parent-School Organisation), enriches the international experience for students, encouraging them to share and celebrate their own cultural experiences and get a taste for the multitude of other diverse traditions.

Opening the day’s events, students took part in a special peace-themed assembly to perform songs and hold their national flags. Dancers aged 6 to 14 danced at the Fair and also took to the stage during the morning to celebrate diversity through performance.

Kathryn Firebrace, Lower School Assistant Principal, commented: "The International Fair is always one of the highlights of the year for students, parents and teachers alike. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate our school’s multicultural ethos and each year we are amazed at the efforts from the school community to help put on an incredible International Fair. We want to thank all the volunteers involved who made it such a special event."
