This Christmas, students from ACS Cobham International School have continued a school tradition creating festive hampers to donate to local charities: Transform Housing and Support, Your Sanctuary, and My Shining Star.

The 14 to 18-year-old students collected practical items such as food, toiletries, sheets and towels, as well as festive treats including toys and games, fun gifts and decorations, amassing to 20 tables worth of donations.

Hampers were then stocked full and distributed to those in need over the festive season. Leatherhead-based Transform supports the homeless and vulnerable and Your Sanctuary in Woking, works to prevent domestic abuse.

ACS Cobham has supported these charities for several years through their Christmas hamper drive. This year, the school also supported My Shining Star, a charity which supports families with children living with cancer.

Representatives from the three charities have since visited ACS Cobham for a special assembly. Bo Wood, High School Assistant Principal at ACS Cobham, commented: “The students did a fabulous job; these gifts really do make a difference to peoples’ lives. And extra thanks to Sami Diab, Head of Cleaning, who’s a great supporter of the project and always helps us out by transporting the hampers to the Woking shelter. We couldn't manage without him!”
