Hollywood stuntman, Rocky Taylor, visited Princess Alice Hospice at the end of November to present a cheque for £5,606 raised by holding a special “return match” charity golf tournament.

Rocky’s golf tournament held at Burhill Golf Club in August included friends and fellow golfers John Virgo, Stephen Hendry and Kenny Lynch.

Together the celebrities reprised the hugely successful charity golf tournament held every year by snooker star, John Virgo. John’s event - which is now in its fourth year - was held at Hersham Golf Club in July this year and raised £3,250 for the Hospice.

The stars’ amazing golfing events have raised over £8,800 this year to support the Hospice’s work. Rocky, famous for his stunt roles in James Bond movies, said: “It was huge fun to hold another fundraising golfing event for the Hospice. Its vital work is an inspiration and while we stayed gently competitive it was a really enjoyable and rewarding day. I’m delighted to have raised a second tidy sum to help the hospice - a wonderful local charity that does such fantastic work in our community.”

More than 120 golfers took part with notable support from Pyrford, Silvermere, Buckingham, Effingham and Burhill Golf Clubs.

The event continued into the evening with a dinner with prizes from Gordon Marks Jewellers and goodie bags from David Worlsfield of Farrants (Cobham High St). Particular thanks go to Paul and Annette Jones who organised the day and sponsor Jules Colliccot of Pro Fix.
