Young environmentalists turned animal detectives for a day, searching for wildlife by following tracks, feathers, chewed nuts and even droppings.
The members of the Wimbledon Common Nature Club spent Sunday morning following clues that led them to rabbits, badgers and dormice. They even found evidence of sheep on the common.
Club leader Auriel Glanville said: “The children and their families thoroughly enjoyed playing detectives tracking so many different wildlife creatures, which increased their knowledge of the animal and bird world.”
The group next meets on Sunday, April 4, for a session on home growing and wildflowers. For more information contact Auriel on 020 8540 6154.
