A stranded dog was rescued from a frozen pond in Tooting by more than 20 firefighters.
The dog got into difficulty on the icy pond near Dr Johnson Avenue on Tuesday afternoon and took about an hour to bring the animal to safety.
According to firefighters the pet was not injured in the incident.
A spokesman said: “If you’ve got a dog, we’d urge you to keep a close eye on it and keep it on a lead, especially during this cold weather as it’s so easy for them to run on to frozen ponds and then either fall through the ice or get stuck."
