Three pupils have quizzed the Secretary of State for Education after the Government revealed it may withdraw £40.9m of funding for their school.
The youngsters, from Burntwood School, in Tooting, invited Michael Gove MP to visit their school after they were asked to take part in a feature for BBC Newsround.
The Government announced it was axing Labour’s Building Schools for the Future scheme earlier this month, which meant funding totalling £247.6m was completely withdrawn from 14 borough schools.
The only two schools listed as having any chance of securing funding are Burntwood and Southfields Community College - but Mr Gove was unable to tell the trio whether Burntwood’s improvement work would happen.
Meanwhile, Tooting MP Sadiq Khan, has met with Lord Jonathan Hill at the Department for Education to ensure the school’s “outcome is a positive one”.
