Gas works will force the partial closure of a busy A-road for nearly four months when they begin tomorrow.
Transport for London (TfL) is warning drivers the eastbound carriageway of Upper Richmond Road will be closed between Dryburgh Road and the junction with Ravenna Road until the end of October.
TfL said work will be carried out seven days a week “in order to reduce disruption and to ensure that the works are completed as soon as possible”.
While Southern Gas Network carries out the gas main replacement works, westbound traffic will be diverted via Putney Hill, the A3 Kingston Road and Roehampton Lane.
Drivers are encouraged to use the A3 West Hill as an alternative diversion route to reduce the amount of traffic using the Tibbet’s Corner roundabout.
Thames Water confirmed it would take the opportunity to carry out water main works within the closure period.
Bus routes 430, 337 and N74 will be placed on diversion during the works - details of which can be found at tfl.gov.uk.
