A former Graveney pupil who made it into Cambridge University is campaigning for more children from ethnic minorities to apply.
Tolu Odusanwo, who graduated from the Tooting school three years ago, wants other students like her to aim for the top.
She will graduate this summer from Homerton College with a degree in maths with education studies and plans to stay for an extra year to train as a teacher.
She said: “The number of black students at Cambridge has increased, even during the short time I’ve been at the university – which is great.
“My dad was my main encouragement in applying to Cambridge – he emphasised the importance of persevering through barriers.”
